About Illucinus

Formed in Redwood City, CA in 2006 by Petr Oplatka (vocals/guitar) and Cameron Stucky (guitar), Illucinus gained local notoriety around the Bay Area in the late 2000s before taking a hiatus. Members of the technical death metal outfit have also played in heavyweight bands like Darkness Everywhere, Light This City, and Mental Cruelty. In 2020 the group reunited with original bassist Dan Saltzman (Fleshspoil) and new drummer KC Brand (Equipoise, The Ritual Aura, The Odious Construct, and more), now back on stage with fresh energy and touring experience.

 

Their re-recorded 2008 EP The Machine dropped with Sevared Records in 2022 and after a US tour with Aethereus & Ominous Ruin, they are continuing to work on a blend of new school tech death and old tunes from the vault, all catering to their signature sound.

 

Illucinus is Brutal Technical Death Metal, a great fit for fans of Gorgasm, Severed Savior, Decrepit Birth, Animosity, Skinless, Hate Eternal, Aeon, and artists of that nature.
